Student Assistant in the Department of Molecular Nutritional Science (140a) wanted
As soon as possible, the Department of Molecular Nutritional Science is looking for a student assistant to support the expansion of our biobank for human adipose tissue samples for at least one year.
Activities
In collaboration with Dr. Matthias Raggi from the Karl-Olga-Krankenhaus in Stuttgart, samples of visceral and/or subcutaneous adipose tissue as well as blood samples are collected during sleeve gastrectomy and tightening surgeries to be integrated into our biobank. Your tasks will include:
- Preparation of material for sample preservation
- Presence in the operating room to receive the collected tissue/blood
- Processing the samples directly on site and freezing them on dry ice as quickly as possible
- Transportation of the samples to Hohenheim
- Organizing the storage and cataloguing of the samples
- Filtering out the associated clinical data from the patient files and filing them digitally
Requirements
We are looking for a motivated student with an interest in working on the expansion of a biobank for human studies in the field of nutritional science. A conscientious, accurate and fast way of working is essential for this position. Applicants should have a driver's license and their own car (travel and parking costs will be reimbursed) and be available on at least one of the regular surgery days (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) from morning to midday/early afternoon. You should be able to carry out this task for at least one year.
